Soul is an Interesting Movie and You Should Watch It
Warning: The following post may contain spoilers.
The movie Soul starts off with a character called Joe Gardener who is able to perform piano while playing jazz with Dorothea Williams but then dies.
Joe then goes to a place called the Great Beyond but does not want to die and jumps off a conveyor belt that leads his soul somewhere else. Then he goes into a place when you're not born yet and then has to teach 22 (an unborn soul and that is short for their number which I am not going to say because it’s really long) to get her spark. Joe wants to go back to earth and he does so while breaking the rules but he is a cat and 22 accidentally goes into Joe’s body.
Since 22 has never been a human before, they can’t do everyday things humans can do and everybody starts to look at them. While Joe and 22 are on earth. Terry, who keeps count of the dead, has to catch him to make sure he does die. This is because he goes to Earth when he is supposed to really be in the Great Beyond.
Terry then finds them and then they go back and 22 goes to earth. Then, for giving 22 her spark, the Jerries, or teachers of the Great Before, say they will give Joe a second chance at life.
Now, time for my opinion.
I like Jerry who is the biggest Jerry because he is the best character. He is the best character because he is helpful, funny, and is the most useful.
On the other hand, after a few minutes when Joe was a cat it got repetitive and boring because it was just 22 finding out what the earth was like. They could have improved on this by making them do more actions to make it more funny like going to a trampoline park. That would make the movie attract more kids.
On a different topic, there were a few important characters which included Terry, Joe, 22, and Moonwind, the guy who got Joe and 22 back to the real world. Those are only 4 important characters unlike in Star Wars where there were more people that were important. This is good and bad because if there are too many main characters it would be way more complicated. But if they have fewer main characters, you know more about each of them making it easier to understand. 4 characters was a good amount.
In the future, a sequel would be a documentary about Joe’s life since he got a second chance to live. It would not be anything much, though it would be nice to see what happens when you die and when you're born. But one movie is good enough.
In my opinion, the quote that represents the movie is from N ick Eh 30, which is “Never back down, never give up” because Joe was close to dying. This is the best quote because Joe never gave up and tried to find ways to come back to life.
For the characters, they changed souls so they had to act differently than the original person. When they changed souls, they had way different character traits. This changed them personally a lot, making others think of them differently.
What shocked me was when Joe turned into a cat and there was a before life. Turning into a cat is really surprising and I was not thinking that would happen. Also, I thought there was only an afterlife, the Great Beyond, but I guess there was also a Great Before.
The next topic is about the speed of the Soul. This movie is fast-paced because there was no staring for 50 seconds straight. Most shows nowadays, there are episodes that are really long because of the really long takes that last 60 seconds each and make you stop watching them entirely. I like it when it is faster paced because that it is not very boring.
The movie was realistic except for the dead stuff and everything with the Great Before and the afterlife. I mean what else is there to say about this? We can’t talk to dead people to know what happens.
My takeaway from Soul was it teaches me to be more careful and to make smart decisions. If I don’t follow these rules, I might end up like Joe unfortunately. It teaches me to be more cautious of my surroundings.
In conclusion, I think this movie is good because it has a creative understanding to it. I recommend this to people who are age 8 or above.
I hope that Joe’s tragedies don't happen to any of you people in the real world.

Wow, that review really deepened my understanding of the movie. I can appreciate its lessons a lot more now! I agree that Jerry was the best character!
