My New Comic Project: Messi and Jesse

 

Messi and Jesse is a four-panel comic kind of like Calvin and Hobbes.

Messi and Jesse are different names of my friends in school who always get in trouble. I came up with this concept because Messi and Jesse always make me laugh when I'm near them and when I'm talking to them.

I’ve always been a fan of comics like Calvin and Hobbes. Last summer, I read a whole Calvin and Hobbes series book six times in one day!

In the future, I am going to write more about things that Messi and Jesse do in real life. In the real world, Messi and Jesse are the big troublemakers at our old school and new school.

I’m most excited about doing more stories because they are always super funny and I want you to relive those moments.

TikTok in Classrooms

Every year, TikTok gets bigger and bigger for students. TikTok is a very popular app for students and is known for its short-form videos that you scroll. Teachers noticed and wondered if they should use short-form video platforms. Some teachers are siding with it and some teachers are going against it.  Last month, a debate was organized by Opentodebate.org between an educational influencer and chemistry teacher named Phil Cook and Adrian Dingle, a secondary school teacher and educational consultant. One reason why Phil Cook is for it is because he believes micro learning is a good thing. Microlearning is watching shorter videos instead of longer videos. He believes it is a good way that we should start using to learn more often. Micro learning is helpful because it's what kids are more used to now.
